I just wanted to make something real. Something people could feel. To create art that reminds you what you do with your life matters.

La Dulce Muerta

I grew up surrounded by Mexican-American culture. Its been a part of my friendships, my marriage, and the way I see the world.
La Dulce Muerta is a love letter to that spirit. The colors, the reverence, the way life and memory intertwine. Inspired by my wife and the beauty of honoring where we come from.

Weezy No Face

"Weezy No Face" is what it feels like to lose yourself while trying to keep yourself together. He's the parts of us we try to hide when we must show up for others. From a distance he is vibrant and whole, but up close you see the holes, the chaos, the way he is barely held together. He exists because he must.

All Eyez

This painting pulls you into his eyes hoping you see a piece of yourself. The lies we tell ourselves, the truth we refuse to face and the quiet self judgement that follows. In the end, it leaves you with a simple choice: forgiveness or regret.

Why Rickyyy Art?

I needed a place to hold my thoughts. I was raised in uncertainty and gravitated towards madness. Taking unnecessary risks to feel something. Every piece is a reflection of who I was at that time. Most of my life I just wanted to be like everyone else and eventually realized we are all the same in a very specific way. We all suffer. When you view Rickyyy art my hope is that you reflect on your own life and find peace and joy through the pain. We suffer together and it connects us. That is what makes it bearable.
